In programming we're currently learning how to fracture a mesh and make it fall into pieces...
My level has a black hole. Gravity is going up not down... so here!
Have a house:
I want my buildings to fall apart and I want the debris to go in a direction towards the black hole to give off the illusion that it's being sucked up.
Here are some examples of some destroyable objects:
It's supposed to be a piece of a building in my level that broke off and is on the track. It's super-charged by the black hole so it has debris floating around it.
Wipeout HD is so cool. I can't stop finding cool things about the game. Even their intro vids that show their maps are pretty sweet. It's like... eyecandy.
What I like so much about what is being shown is how the videos showcase the designs in their map. It showcases paths the player will be taking and what the environment is made up of. It gives the player a good sense of what they're racing in.
For my "barrel explosion", I'm going to have floating "dark matter" that broke off from the warphole itself. It will look like a gathering of mini energy like this:
It will explode in a collection of energy and small particles.
